How to breastfeed the right way

Everyone knows that breastfeeding is the best possible thing for a newborn baby. It gives the baby all important nutrients it need in the first stage of his life. Building a bond between mother and child is another important part in a child's life that builds trust and a feeling of vastness within the child.

Some mother’s although struggle with being able to breastfeed their child and often give up after a few tries. During times of doubt it is important to stay motivated and determined to get the job done right!

First it’s important to stay calm and relaxed during the whole process. Baby’s can feel when the mother is not completely confident in what she is doing which can often concerned the baby. Place your thumb over your nipple and your fingers 2-3 centimeters under the nippple. The child should be facing the breast and have it’s mouth placed right at the nipple, stimulate the mouth so the baby is able to latch on right. If your nipple starts to hurt during feedings simply re-position the baby’s mouth and start again.

One important thing to keep in mind it that the baby should have the whole nipple in it’s mouth as well as part of the breast, this is to make sure that your nipple does not get wounded. If your baby is only sucking on the nipple then this will most likely lead to a wound.

If your baby is not strong enough to be breastfeed then the best possible thing you can do is to pump your milk and fill it into bottles. Through this the baby does not have to suck as hard which makes the whole process easier. There are a lot of options when it comes to breastpumps, here is completely up to you to decide what is easier and most comfortable for you to use.

If you are not wanting to use a breast pump and would rather use milk formulas, then it is best to read and research some brand names that are trusted.
