The Growing belly and how to care for it
The belly of a pregnant woman grows day by day as the baby gets bigger throughout the 9 months. Many mothers have it easier than others during the 9 months of caring a child, others struggle with balancing pregnant with their job and household. Most importantly, you need to enjoy this time as it is something truly special and wonderful.
During pregnancy it is important to listen to your body when it is tired. You should never overwork yourself as this stresses you and the child out. Allow the father to help out with the household and give you a break. You should be resting and relaxed in order to enjoy the process of pregnancy.
After pregnancy it is completely normal to feel extremely tired. During this time the body is completely worn out and needs as much rest as possible. Some mother’s need up to 15 hours of sleep a day. Here it is very important to listen to what your body is trying to tell you.
During the 7th month a lot of mother’s experience shortness of breath. This occurs because the baby is pressing down onto the diaphragm, which give your lungs not as much space to allow air to pass through.
Not to worry! This goes away shortly before birth when the baby moves down to the pelvis.
As the belly of a woman expands through the months, certain stretch marks can occur as the skin stretches and expands as well. Here it is important to use lotions, creams and oil to prevent or lessen stretch marks. This should be done at least twice a day.
It is important to allow the father to be part of the pregnancy as well, therefore let him touch the belly or massage the belly with oil are important things to get him ready to be a father.
