The Nursery is a very important part in a child’s life. This can be the playroom, sleep room and the place where your child knows it is in his own territory.
When decorating the Nursery it is recommended to use less plastic furniture and more of natural wood if possible. This allows for more of a natural environment as well as a long lasting quality.
If your child is a little older and starts to go to kindergarten or even school, it is very important to establish a working area to allow the child to quietly do homework on a propper desk. Here, it is recommended for the desk to be positioned facing a window to allow natural light in the room. The walls can be decorated with your child's favorite animal pictures or different colors of their choice.
Electronics should have their own place in the room and should be kept far away during study or homework hours. Electronics such as playstations and smartphones will distract the child during their study time and therefore should be placed on the other side of the room or in a completely different room.
Often times it helps to divide the room in three parts; Sleeping area, play area and study area. Dividing the room in three parts allows the child to have an understanding each part having its own purpose. Another tipp to remember is that the door should always be visible from every aspect of the room. According to feng-Shui rules, this gives the child a sense of security.
Lastly, your child’s room should not have too many sharp edges of walls slanting down. It is recommended to have round or even shapes or walls because these allow energy flow and also lower the risk of injury.
